As we have known that each country’s Blu-ray player has a different region code. (Read more about DVD and Blu-ray Region Codes.) They only can play the movies in the same region codes. A region A player can’t play a region B movie. Generally, this is not a big problem, because you just need to buy the right movie. But sometimes, the movie you want to watch did not release in your place. How? To get a corresponding player? It is too inconvenient.

Blu-ray player software is a program that let you play Blu-ray disc on your computer. Here we will introduce a few of them.

Applications (in no particular order)

Leawo Blu-ray Player – A very smooth player with a Win 8 style interface. As a region free Blu-ray player software, it could help you to enjoy Blu-ray, DVD movies with no limit. It can play discs, folders, ISO files and videos. And the point is it is free.

Macgo Blu-ray Player – It is well known as the first Blu-ray media player software for Apple Mac, which can successfully play Blu-ray Disc, Blu-ray Menu, ISO files, and BDMV folders, as well as on iOS devices. Now it has a Windows version, too.

PowerDVD – Famous media player, right? Like its name, it is really powerful and professional. But it has a limitation in setting the region code. PowerDVD will allow you to change region codes up to 5 times (also depending on your DVD or Blu-ray drive) and then automatically lock in the fifth region-code setting. Then you can only play DVD or Blu-ray titles in the fifith region code or non-protected discs of all regions. The region code will remain locked even if you re-install PowerDVD.
